New permanent priest for Orkney
On the weekend of 21-22nd March, Father Andrew Kingham will take up the post of Parish Priest of Our Lady and St Joseph’s, Orkney. Father Colin Davies has written the following message:
As sad as it makes me feel, I have been praying for a full-time priest for 3.5 years. This will allow Orkney to benefit from having a priest full-time on the island and not miss a Sunday Celebration because I cannot get the ferry over for the weather. I also know that my own health will benefit from not having to travel to Orkney every weekend.
We parishioners and volunteers for Our Lady and St Joseph’s Parish wish to express our love and appreciation for all Father Colin has done for us. For all the huge personal sacrifice. For all the love and care he has devoted to us, his flock. Thank you Father.
